Family Support Services

Family Support Services provide a variety of recreation opportunities for people with developmental disabilities. Programs are county-specific. 

Madison County:  

Young Adult Club for socializing among young adults in a small group setting.  

Broadway Stars  for up to three cultural outings per year to seven participants and two friends or family of their choice. Transportation is included.  

Polar Bears for adaptive skiing at Labrador Mountain in Truxton. Transportation is included. 

Onondaga County: 

Art Explorers for painting, printing, sculpting working in mixed media, and photography.  

SibShops for supporting siblings of a brother or a sister with a developmental disability. The group is open to children/youth ages seven to 17 and involves discussion, crafts and team-building.  

Polar Bears for adaptive skiing at Labrador Mountain in Truxton. Transportation is included.  

Oswego County:  

Teen Group for developing emotional supports among peers. The group is open to youth ages 13 to 19 and involves discussion, activities and attending community events. 

Community Connections for learning social skills to navigate the community independently. The group is open to adults older than 20 and involves community and sporting events, dances and bowling.  

SibShops for supporting siblings of brothers or sisters who have a developmental disability. The group is open to children/youth ages seven to 17 and involves discussion, crafts and team-building. 

One-to-One Staffing is available to anyone who needs a one-on-one staff member to participate in programs/groups.
